L'Étape du Tour de France with Peak&Coast Cycling

Ride the world’s most iconic amateur cycling event from the heart of the Alps

Peak&Coast Cycling Camp logo

Every year, L’Étape du Tour de France gives amateur cyclists the chance to ride a real Tour de France mountain stage on closed roads, in one of the sport’s most iconic and demanding events. More than a sportive, it is a major personal challenge — and for many, a bucket-list experience in the heart of the Alps.

In 2026, the event takes place in Alpe d’Huez on Sunday, July 19, with a route of 170 km (106 mi) and 5,400 m of elevation gain (17,717 ft) across some of the Alps’ most legendary climbs, including the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Col de Sarenne (Alpe d’Huez).

At Peak&Coast Cycling, Official Tour Operator, we offer four ways to build your Étape du Tour experience — from securing your official bib number to riding in the Alps before or after the event, with a premium base, small groups, and a real cycling camp atmosphere throughout.
